Minister Kevin Scott
Minister Kevin Scott Sr., was born, December 27, 1963 to Deacon Ernest and Deaconess Alice Scott Sr. He grew up in Winston Salem, NC and attended the Forsyth County schools. He graduated from East Forsyth High School in 1980. He is married to Vivian A. Cash Scott. He has one son, Kevin Scott II, three daughters, Jessie H. Davis, Courtney Wilson, and Deyonna Joyce. He has thee brothers, Ernest Jr., Michael (Saundra), and Jerry (Brenda) and one sister, Lisa Scott. Kevin has Four brother-in-laws and a host of nieces and nephews.
Minister Scott gave his life to Christ at a young age. When the Lord saved him, he received his calling of music ministry, giving a testimony of Peter walking on water and walked to the piano and began playing. He ministered many years at Temple Holiness where many of his songs originated from.
He has directed many workshops telling how his Father taught him and his brothers how to harmonize on “Three Blind Mice”.
Minister Scott worked with many churches in and around the city such as, Mt. Zion, New Unity, Cleveland Avenue and Mt. Olive. He has played for such groups as the Friendly Five, Renaissance and the Napper Singers.
Minister Scott has worked diligently for many years with WSSU gospel choir. In 2009 Minister Scott left the WSSU and went forth with his group, which purposed by God have recorded their first CD. Now his hard work, heart’s desire, and steps have been directed by the Lord. It is truly “MY TIME, MY TURN” as Minister Kevin Scott would say.
